AIM & MAIN OBJECTIVES
To exercise Marine Oil Spill Response and SAR procedures as per National Marine Disaster Contingency Plan (NMDCP) in order to improve inter-agency coordination and refine procedures.(1) To strengthen inter-ministerial, inter-agency cooperation about marine anti-pollution and SAR subjects.
(2) To test information related with emergency procedures for anti-pollution and SAR during various tiers of an emergency.
(3) To check Command & Control procedures in order to handle emergency at sea by employing sea assets.
(4) To increase professional knowledge of staff involved in the activity in order to identify problems or possible improvements to existing procedures.
(5) To highlight ability of PMSA, PN and other stakeholders in coordinating Oil Spill/ SAR response as part of maritime awareness at national/ international level.
(6) To provide a realistic training opportunity while focusing on MEDEVAC, SAR operations and confronting maritime pollution.
(7) To verify the efficacy of national distress alert relay mechanism after receipt of distress message.
(8) To check efficiency & suitability of the materials, means for combating Marine Oil Pollution and SAR.
(9) To develop a realistic training event by consolidating resources and manpower held with stakeholders.
