Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi to be appointed as new Naval Chief
On Wednesday, the President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi has appointed Vice Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi as the new Chief of the Naval Staff and promoted him to the rank of Admiral.
According to the details, Niazi’s promotion to the Admiral rank will be effective from the date of assuming Command of Pakistan Navy.
Vice Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan will be replacing Admiral Zafar Mahmood, who will renounce the Command of Pakistan Navy on 7th October.
As per the reports, the Change of Command ceremony will be held at PNS Zafar, Islamabad.
Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi had joined the Pakistan Navy in 1983. The Sword of Honor recipient, the Admiral has a distinguished career with various Command and Staff appointments’ experience.
Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi’s major command appointments include Commanding Officer PNS BADR, Commanding Officer PNS TARIQ, Commander18th Destroyer squadron, Commandant PNS BAHADUR, and Commandant Pakistan Navy War College, Lahore.
