Improvement and changes for the basic training combat for US Army is undergoing for this October. Basically, it corrects problems from the BCT, like the fact it is too much focused for missions in Iraq & Afghanistan.
For example, in landmine defense, the terrains for which soldiers was trained was focused on that type of terrain. Now, it should be broader than before, with specific training when they will get assigned to a unit.
Another example is the rifle marksmanship, to aim better. The problem was the lack of tactical gear and no integration of the optics. It is now corrected and align with the FORSCOM standards.
