Boeing Begins Deliveries of ‘Little Bird’ Helicopters to Saudi Arabia

July 11, 2016 – The Boeing Company expects the first batch of deliveries of its AH-6i “Little Bird” light attack/reconnaissance helicopter to reach the Saudi Arabia National Guard (SANG) by the end of this month. The $234 million contract to supply the 24 AH-6is is part of a $25.6 billion (SR96 billion) deal in which the U.S. will supply a number of AH-64E Apaches, Sikorsky UH-60M Blackhawks, and 12 MD Helicopters MD-530Fs, in addition to providing piloting training to several Saudi pilots. The sale of the Little Birds to the Saudi government is the first foreign sale of that attack helicopter variant.
