I'm not sure what you mean by "climate change kool-aid drinkers", but you sound a lot like a "flat-Earther". The evidence for the anthropogenic component of global warming is over-whelming. And the steps which we can make to ameliorate or even reverse it are not only beneficial in so many ways, they are also profitable. Even many of the major players in the carbon-fuel industry have realized that.
Doug Hughes, the patriot who flew the gyrocopter into DC, highlighted the corrupting effect of "Citizen's United" , which has allowed anti-science fanatics to try and advance the agenda of robber-barons who want to make a quick buck while propelling us towards a painful death for billions of people, mostly my grand-children, and yours.
What is pathetic is seeing one denier spokesman try to blame volcano activity for current global warming. The 1815 eruption of Mt. Tambora was followed by "the year with no Summer". Volcanoes add dust to the upper atmosphere, and gases that are the opposite of greenhouse gases.
