This Cold War era pistol should come to an end and get replaced. Army thinks its more economical to phase out both M9 and M11 with the new pistol.
There will be a contest for a $580 million market from the Army, and it will be stamped so this may mean contracts with other Armies outside of US. The problems? Not hard-hitting, can't swap easily gun sights, can't add easily infrared lights or normal lights. As well, the bullets should be better as well.
