Pakistan Air Force JF-17 appeared yesterday with a victory kill mark of the downed Iranian UAV Shahed 129 spy drone that it brought down in Panjgur airspace 2 years ago on the 18-06-2017.

Official sources had confirmed earlier that a JF-17 shot down the drone which was allegedly on a 'spying mission'.

Shooting an UAV with a fighter jet is most likely the first in history. I have not heard that happened before.

The UAV Shahed 129 was shot down by a PL-5E II

The PL5E has an all-aspect capability with the seeker having a maximum off boresight angle of ±25° before launch, and ±40° after launch.

The missile has a maximum lateral acceleration of 40G. A minimum launch range of 500m , and a maximum launch range of 14km have been officially stated. But Ranges of 25km+ were achieved in tests.

In June 2002, history was made when an Israeli Searcher Mk2 drone operated by India, was shot down via a Pakistan Air force F16B using AIM-9L Sidewinder, at an altitude of 13,000ft

This is pretty old news and I would not call s-129 a "spy drone".

I don't think it's particularly impressive to shoot down a medium-large sized, first generation non-stealth s-129 UCAV with a fighter jet tbh...

Exactly my point. A 'spy drone' to me is more like RQ-170 or something with low RCS characteristics, not s-129.
