11 of them, the 12th was sold to someone else. Or maybe the one produced in 1975 is too old and will be used for parts.

Still why tho? Why does PN and PAF like to collect others junk like this and Mirages.
My bad I thought I had posted in tbr correct sectionPakistan Navy gets more Sea Kings
@Khafee PN is getting Sea Kings from Qatar - 10 of themworld-defense.com
6+2+11=19?6 Mk 45s initial order (1975) - Lost 1 during Dipping Sonar tests. Was replaced in late 80s
Bought 7 from UK but only 3 air worthy 2x Hc4 Commandos and 1 Mk 8 SAR bird (rest just airframes no engines). Lost 1 Commando in 2018 in a crash.
now these 10 from Qatar
So 6 + 2 + 10 = 18 airworthy (in service)
Apparently the Qatari Sea Kings have over 50% life left on engines and airframe so PN is quite happy with them.
Haha Yes. I was counting 10 Qatari airframes (before getting confirmation of the 11th)6+2+11=19?
The Sea Kings around the world are either retired, retiring, or soon to be retired. Pakistan could grab them for cheap every now and then and as u said build maintenance facilities. Get like a good 10 years out of them at least. By that time all the surface vessels, subs, and MPAs would be almost concluded. Opening up the way for PN to be able fund its helicopter fleet in a comprehensive manner. Turkish helicopters would also be further along...and may be a viable option in that time...along with Chinese helicopters having been more mature.Would make sense to get them as well. We need to build maintenance facilities in Pakistan to overhaul these and support once OEM phases support out. Currently major components get serviced by Westland in UK.
You mean giving moral support to PN?Argentina is to acquire a pair of remanufactured Sikorsky SH-3H Sea King helicopters to bolster its navy’s fleet.
