The need for an attack fighter returned after 27/2, and situation is very much same as we are again searching suitable platform.Only difference is no western country would enter in a deal with us for attack platform because of our nuclear posture.
They might have planned to launch strike somewhere initially, but Thunders and Mirages might have failed the requirements of mission, as a result, they created the need. This makes me wonder, what extent PAF would have gone to had they had a attack aircraft. We might have seen our neighbours actually pissing their pants and running here & there for a political solution

In the other forum, Bilal Khan-Quwa reporting that in 70s, PAF initiated program to evaluate A-7 for both CAS and deep strike. but in 1976 US put brakes on the possible sale after reports on Pakistan actively pursuing nuclear weapons. We also evaluated Jags but cost factor turned us to Chinese A-5s.

the only source will again be China ...so grab what they are offering without wasting more time in searching and dreaming.
I think we also need to accept that maybe no country wants to equip us that kind of offensive power.

Even the Chinese can justify it to themselves to give us shorter ranged jets and assets to ensure we can hurt India, but not so much that we can break them.

We're probably on our own in this area, hence why Project Azm is a go...

Yes. the other factor is that Indians have now more than convinced after 27/2 , if PAF will able to get reliable strike platform, it would become our first choice rather than missile based strikes....this fear factor has huge psychological impact....and when fear sets in ....you win half of the battle specially in air warfare.

Thats why Sir MK saying when "Xi asked what do you want"....we should have been worked it out and promptly replied with what we are discussing it here.

Project Azm is a distant dream....and our next face off with IAF might happen tonight ...tomorrow...or next month....

the reports of several sectors on LOC being under heavy Indian Selling at the moment....and this could be the scenario I posted above. Today, an Indian Lt. Gen Ranbir singh died in Heli crash ....near LoC causing lot of panic in IA.

Haha, death of a very high ranking officer is a big news, it indicates how incompetent is IAF / IA Aviation are totally incompetent to even keep their high ranking guys safe

In another world I siad this plenty of times. What China limits for export, to other countries, and what it limits to Pakistan are two different things. This was before CPEC. After CPEC things are even more +ve.
yaap but not before addressing her need first .... we have the prime example Type-54AP frigate in this case ....

Yes, but their naval building interests outweigh their air fleet building one. They are short on ships to counter the gigantic might of USA, priority will definitely for their goals to at least reach a satisfactory level which isn’t the case right now

Hi,

It looks like that but such is not the case---. " Do the doable"---that is what the chinese are doing---. There frigates are fairly advanced---and with enough numbers---they will be a major concern to the americans---.

But otoh---for the aircraft---the chinese are working very hard on some 'break thru' technologies---the electronics and the engine---. The previous plateau that they reached---they came up with the J10C---J31 and the J20---.

Now---once they take care of the engine for the J20---you will see the focus grow on the aircraft as well---.

There might be another stealth aircraft in the making with an ally---.
