On December 31st the UN Security Council voted for Palestine to become an recognized state.
8 Countries voted for this proposal: Russia, China, France, Jordan, Chad, Luxemburg, Argentina

Israel was particularly disappointment with France siding with Palestine. Foreign Ministry spokesman Emmanuel Nachshon said that the ministry's deputy director-general for Western Europe, Aviv Shir-On, told the French ambassador that Israel was deeply disappointed by France's stance and its vote in the UNSC.

Did Israel really expect France to stand behind it when in the first place it "overkilled" Palestinians in Gaza? Had they used a well thought-out and less bloody approach, they wouldn't have had to suffer such disgrace including losing the trust of their former allies. They're supposed to be the "chosen ones." They're well aware of what Hitler did to the Jews in WWII. There was no need to continue such a vicious legacy of violence.
