The Philippines expressed its deep concern for the planned rocket launch of North Korea. Cited was the numerous resolutions of the UN Security Council that will be violated. The secretary of Foreign Affairs, Albert Del Rosario, issued a strong statement to North Korea to "desist from such provocative acts that threaten the peace and stability of the region and the rest of the world.”

Greatly affected is Japan which will change air routes for their 2 biggest airlines that traverse Tokyo-Manila.

I think should North Korea fail to heed what the international community wants them to do, they'll lose some of the key allies they can afford to lose. China earlier in the week warned North Korea not escalate tensions by launching the rocket. Russia was also against it. So this time round it's no just the West and some nations in East Asia that stand against North Korea. Should they launch the rocket anyway then they may find themselves more isolated than they already are.

I hope pressure builds up on North Korea. Although, they seem to be unfurled by what the International Community has been saying. Great to know that Philippines made this strong statement.
