Russian President Vladimir Putin said Thursday that the process of exporting the S-400 missile system to India was proceeding as planned, and announced that the process of supplying S-400 systems to India is on schedule, pointing out that Indian Prime Minister, Narinda Modi, did not Speed up this process.

"As far as the S-400 supplies are concerned, they are going as planned. The Indian colleague has not asked to accelerate them," Putin told a news conference after the BRICS summit. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov announced in September that India had paid the S-400 contract provider and that the supply would be on schedule.

“The contractor has been paid and the supply will be done according to schedule, I believe, it will be in 18-19 months,” Borisov said in an interview with Russia 1, referring to the S-400 supply contract for India. Previous, the deputy director of the service Vladimir Drogov said that Russia hopes to obtain an advance from India for S-400 complexes by the end of the year, in which case the deliveries could begin in 2020, and be completed by 2025.

At the end of August, the FSVTS press service told Sputnik that the two countries had settled the problem in advance. $ 5.43 billion.

The deployment of the S-400 in the region is hindering sales of US F-35 fighter jets.

The United States is trying to prevent several Russian deals to sell the S-400 because it hindered the completion of the sale of the US F-35 fighter to the Middle East.

The United Arab Emirates has been identified as one of the most likely candidates for F-35 fighter jets, according to Defense News magazine quoted expert Lauren Thompson of the Lexington Institute. It is doubtful, however, that the deal will be concluded soon because another country in the region, Turkey, has purchased air defense media from Russia.

Lockheed Martin, the maker of F-35s, is looking to sell 4,200 F-35s to the Gulf. However, these plans are hampered by sales of Russian fighter jets and S-400 air defense systems in the Middle East market.

Experts who have spoken to Defense News find that any country that buys S-400 systems automatically deprives itself of the possibility of buying F-35s, inter alia, for security reasons.

Lauren Thompson explains that the use of Russian air defense media by a country in the region poses a threat to the technological safety of the F-35.

Russia is killing NATO missile shield by deploying the system everywhere. Even Turkey a NATO member now operates the S-400.
