Egypt and Russia inked a $2 Billion agreement to supply the Egyptian Air Force with 20-24 Su-35s with deliveries to begin in 2020-2021. Egypt will become the 4th operator of the aircraft following Algeria, China and Indonesia. following a coup in 2013, Egypt's leader Sisi began signing a major defence contracts with Russian companies such as the S-300VM, Ka-52K and the MiG-35 deal. It is unclear whether or not if Egypt will face the US's CAASTA sanctions.
