Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz al-Saud has ordered the donatation of $35 million to help West African countries to combat the epidemic of Ebola, the Saudi Press Agency reported Thursday.

The announcement was made by Dr. Ahmad Mohammad Ali, the president of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), the SPA said.

Ali said the aid donated by the king would be implemented by the IDB.

He added that it also includes providing schools in the concerned countries with “thermal sensors; means of medical examination and screening that allows to identify the infected people and the early address for their treatment without the transmission of infection.”
