It makes total sense space cadet, however the Canadian government has been around this "track" before and it did not go well, but one can always hope. Thanks for your support though.I would think that Canada and Australia should have nuke boats
Well Canada is US's largest trading partner and a staunch ally. If they are willing to now allow nuclear technology proliferation i-e access to it for Austrailia, why not Canada. isn't that all well known in Canada? The “Kangaroo” Has Placated The “Maple Leaf”-Canadas Influence Has Waned As A Global Middle Power
According to our “newly minted” Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Canada seems to be immediately down-playing the importance of the “Three-Eyes” AUKUS nuclear technology transfer deal between the United States, Australia and United Kingdom as merely a way for the US to sell nuclear submarines to Australia and does not see any significant implications for Canada and dismisses the importance of this deal and the serious long-term ramifications for Canada as a “Five-Eyes” member. The following National Post (Canada) article by Andrew Richter (Associate Professor Of Political Science at The University Of Windsor) conveys a much different outcome for Canada and our relationships with our most valued allies, especially the United States. A most interesting article and very much worthwhile a read for forum members.
Andrew Richter: Under the Liberals, Canada has effectively disappeared as an international actor
Hello Space Cadet. It may be known by others but not well known here in Canada. We have always thought of ourselves as the USAs staunchest ally but when Biden said that Australia was their best ally, it took most people off-guard.isn't that all well known in Canada?
IN the US we don't think of Canada as an ally, they are just someone we must protect, nothing against Canada, but that is the logic of today.Hello Space Cadet. You might want to rethink that statement space cadet at least from a US military perspective. What state are you from anyway?IN the US we don't think of Canada as an ally, they are just someone we must protect, nothing against Canada, but that is the logic of today.
I wasn't trying to offend, if that is how it came off. If you look at Europe and the US commitment there, and others lack of commitment, you might understand where we might feel that way, other nations count on the US to defend them and spend wildly on things that are not in there defense, and that's because they expect the US to defend them. For instance, if someone was dumb enough to attack Canada who would be the first to send an armored division there to defend it, the USYou might want to rethink that statement space cadet at least from a US military perspective. No offence taken space cadet but Canada is a great ally with the US and we have a excellent relationship with the US WRT the defence of North America (NORAD) and our Atlantic, Pacific and Arctic regions. It is a shared mutual defence relationship that Canada takes very seriously, but it is also good to know that Canada has your back as well even if we don't have the kind of Defence budget that the US can muster.I wasn't trying to offend, if that is how it came off.
