According to the Pierre Sprey, co-designer of the F-16, the F35 is a turkey. Inherently, a terrible airplane. An airplane built for a dumb idea. A kludge that will fail time and time again. Just impossibly hopeless. And judging from the bajillion times the F-35 fleet has been grounded, well, he's probably not wrong. It's a trillion dollar failure. UAE thought of procuring the F-35 but because of the technical issues the fighter is going through we decided to go for more f-16. So does Saudi Arabia I guess. They have ordered 80 F-15 saudi variants. That tells a lot about the F-35. Turkey operates the F-35 and I think it would be better for them to procure more of the f-16 till the f-35 issues are all solved.
