The United States Government Recognizes ISIS Responsible for Genocide

In his statement, Secretary of State John Kerry spoke about ISIS targeting Yazidis and other minorities in Iraq and Syria. Here's a quote from the statement:

"My purpose here today is to assert in my judgment, (ISIS) is responsible for genocide against groups in areas under its control including Yazidis, Christians and Shiite Muslims," he said, during a news conference at the State Department.

The time frame covered goes back to 2014. Of course, many of us have recognized this as genocide for quite a while, but apparently it takes large governments much longer to pull together the information and resources needed for an official designation.
