The Tunisian Armed Forces (Arabic: القوات المسلحة التونسية‎‎) consist of the Tunisian Army (Arabic : الجيش الوطني التونسي ) , Air Force ( القوات الجوية التونسية ) and Navy ( البحرية التونسية ).
as of 2016 Tunisia have an Army of nearly 60'000 Personel with between 5000 and 12000 reserve being trained every year under mandatory national service and Air Force of nearly 6000 personel and Navy of nearly 6000 personel ..
Tunisia participates in United Nations peacekeeping efforts in the DROC (MONUSCO) and Côte d'Ivoire. Previous United Nations peacekeeping deployments for the Tunisian armed forces have included Cambodia (UNTAC), Namibia (UNTAG), Somalia (UNOSOM I & II) , Rwanda, Burundi, Ethiopia/Eritrea (UNMEE), and the 1960s mission in the Congo, ONUC.

The modern Tunisian Army had its origins in the time of the French Protectorate (1881–1956). During this period, Tunisians were recruited in significant numbers into the French Army, serving as tirailleurs (infantry) and spahis (cavalry). These units saw active service in Europe during both World Wars, as well as in Indo-China prior to 1954. The only exclusively Tunisian military force permitted under French rule was the Beylical Guard.
The national army among the first institutions that have been sent to complete sovereignty .. the first nucleus of the national army structured on 24 June 1956 and about 5000 soldier ( some of them are former French Army officers and non-commissiod officers )

Tunisia is nearly 12 Milion pop so 0.5 of the pop in the army thats good precentage for country like tunisia ( we are not planning to go to war ) and the armed forces is 80k and we have national guard ( interior ministry ) ....
It's not About the Army size but how your man trained and we have very trained army

Sounds fair to me but with growing militants present in Libya and some surrounding countries I think Tunisia should consider such threat.

Nice pics looks well trained and well equipped. What air defense system is Tunisia relying on? Why there is no modernization to the air force?

I don't think that will see the light anytime soon thou. I think it would be better to wait for a 5th gen to be available for export. TAF f-5 are still in shape and can be upgraded until a decision is made. Tbqh I don't see why Tunisia Air Force is neglecting this issue considering their financial capability.
