TAI is to conduct a structural upgrade on Turkey's 35 remaining Block 30 F-16s in order to extend their service life. (Turkish Air Force)

Known as the F-16 Block 30 Structural Modernisation Programme, the effort will include the Turkish Air Force's 35 oldest F-16s in order to increase their service life.

According to a TAI spokesperson, the contract for the upgrade process was signed between TAI and the Turkish Undersecretariat for Defence Industries on 10 August. Much of the work is expected to be conducted by the Turkish Air Force's 1st Air Supply and Maintenance Center Command.

So this is just a structural upgrade to ensure they can keep them in service for a while long? Nothing being upgraded in the way of electronics or weapons systems?
