14th August 1947, a new country appears on the world map (or to put it more accurately two new nations appear on the face of world map who have been coexisting in the same country for centuries). As (not so distant) history confirms, this new formation on world map was not a new piece of big land that was somehow discovered by some explorer, but a division of an existing huge land .... the British India into two separate people, two separate nations. All this was result of a great struggle which later turned into a strenuous effort to preserve separate identities of two very different people.
Dear readers this division was not just some simple lines drawn on map but it involved an administrative nightmare .... the massive exodus of two different people from opposite side of newly drawn border to go and live on the other side. The reason for this wish to migrate to the other side? The purpose? The motive? It appears that at that time it was very clear to all of the two different people ...... they sensed they didn't belong anymore to the place where their forefathers and their forefathers had lived for centuries and died ........... what they knew at that point of time was we are no more owners of this land, this doesn't belong to us because we are different from people who are supposed to live here. The painful migration full of stories of humans sufferings was somehow completed and achieved, if not million ..... hundred of thousands died just to reach the land that they thought they now belonged to. What was this difference after all? Did they think they have different anatomy? Did they think they have different skin color? Or did they differ in what they believed? Any reasonable man would point out that it was their difference in two separate belief systems that lead to their migration and ultimately the division of British India into a Muslim majority Pakistan and a Hindu majority Hindustan.
One can ask today in world marred with ignorance and confusion, that ..... why was all this so important? Why were they crazy to leave their homes, suffer and get killed? Was this all for nothing? The answer would be ....... No ....... the urge to get identified separately, the urge to belong and live with people who they thought are similar to us ..... was so high that it made clear to two people how their belief systems are opposing and different. This clearly manifested that there are two different people with different identities who needed countries of their own to live in and govern them according to their wishes. No ifs and buts about sense of identity and purpose.
What should have happened and it did happen to some extent is that this understanding, belief and reason for a separate state should have been preserved for future generations to make them fully aware of why it was necessary and how it can never be reversed, not only by redrawing borders and merging again but also how we can not adopt a governing system that would go against the purpose of having a separate land and all the sacrifices to get that land. However, down the line the Muslim majority Pakistani people lost the sense of their identity and the purpose for which Pakistan was formed. The willingly fell into deep identity crisis and let in confusion fill the gaps. This marvelous stunt wasn't achieved that simply ....... it had many factors behind it, ranging from failing to adopt the principles of an Islamic state to, letting the dynasties, Generals and landlords and fake Saints .... a free hand to rule without any checks and balances in place, coupled with efforts of handful traitors who successfully distorted the meaning and purpose of Pakistan. The result of nearly 60 years of this incompetence and indifference was Pakistan descending into a deeply confused conservative theocratic state, a land that is blessed with immense resources but ripe with people who are corrupt, ignorant, extremists, deprived of any logic, reason, civility, vision and sense of direction. They started imitating the very people whom their forefathers considered different, they started propagating ideas that would render all those sacrifices and sufferings of their forefather as void and for nothing. A land blessed with access to ocean, rich in agriculture, minerals, natural resources failed to feed its people, a land where no one should have to worry about his safety, his family's safety, his wealth ended up failing to provide timely swift justice to its citizens. A state that was destined to be a modern Quranic Islamic state ended up with confusion about its founding father ....... some believe he was secular, some believe he was religious, some believe he was Shia, others believe he was Agha Khani and Qadiyanis complain that all his main supporters were Qadiyanis ......... no one even cares to study and accept that that man Muhammad Ali Jinnah may have wished to implement laws and form a state that would follow immutable guidance from Quran. All his post partition speeches are reflective of how a man who firmly believes in Quran would speak. Alas Pakistanis quarrel over whether those speeches meant to hint at a secular state or a deeply conservative theocratic state. The failure to formulate laws in accordance with immutable guidance from Quran keeps Pakistan and Pakistanis from achieving the very purpose it was destined to achieve.
Pakistan could have been anything, a leader in the Muslim world, a modern Muslim country that world would look at and admire ........... but somehow people of Pakistan chose to remain mentally slaves and beggars and preferred to live in hell like conditions. You won't see the sectarian divide anywhere else in the world like it exists in Pakistan, you won't see misinterpretation of Islamic beliefs anywhere else in the world like it is done daily in Pakistan, you won't see a corrupt worshiped like a God anywhere else but Pakistan. Give any other nation a country like Pakistan and see how it amazes the world but cursed are Pakistanis that they don't realise their potential, that they chose to remain beggars, that they chose to remain impotent. Today you would see Pakistanis writing and debating and supporting why secularism is necessary .......... but don't be mislead they are handful of few other confused Pakistanis who think a foreign alien concept would some how successfully remove all the ills of a deeply conservative (in a negative sense) society, accepting secularism would tantamount to accepting that there was no need for Pakistan from the start.
Newly formed Pakistan was / is like newly formed State of Madinah ........ compare the two, the risks, the threats the opportunities were similar in nature, but one progressed to be a just lawful state that would be beacon of hope for oppressed humanity of those times and the other descended into confusion. The only difference between the two is one strictly formulated laws in accordance with immutable guidance in Quran and the other covered Quran in fancy clothes and placed it high on shelves inside their home .......... just to be kissed and and recited in select few months and occasions, they keep hating their minority and keep dividing themselves based on their self styled religious narratives, but don't pay much attention to message of Quran, and no doubt Quran has warned that such people would live in hell like conditions, which we live in.
My message may be abhorrent and incoherent ........... but my solution at the end would do wonders.
