A Possible New Cold War

We spent decades in a cold war with the Soviet Union. Then when it ended it brought about a new landscape for our world affairs. Is there another Cold War going on in a broader sense? Perhaps with China or with the West against the East? Many say this the case. I am not totally convinced about it. But I do think that something similar to a cold war could happen again and it would be the Asian rising superpowers that could be the foe for lack of a better word.

The cold war has already began. Again it's Russia vs the West. Or maybe it could pit the West against Russia and her allies.

Those are Gorbachev's words.

Gorbachev is not the first to declare the start of a new Cold War this year. Russia’s annexation of Crimea in March has caused officials and pundits around the world to warn that the West’s efforts to isolate Russia have opened a dangerous gulf between them.

The question therefore is, who else will be drawn into this new cold war?
