Modern day soldiers often carry 90 pounds or more on their backs during missions, with everything from food to clothing and batteries for their electronics. This severely limits their ability to conduct combat. While the military has experimented with robotic, baggage carrying mules, are there dedicated soldiers used as porters? For example, such soldiers could be responsible for taking care of the military donkeys or luggage horses, or even have a hand truck to carry all the bags. This way, other soldiers can carry a more manageable backpack weight of 15 pounds.
