AUSA 2015: US military exports reached USD46.6 billion
Zachary Fryer-Biggs, Washington, DC - IHS Jane's Defence Weekly
13 October 2015
The US completed deals with foreign countries worth USD46.6 billion for restricted military equipment in 2015, the director of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) announced at the Association of the US Army (AUSA) 2015 conference on 13 October.
The total, which had not been previously reported, marks a 36% increase in sales from 2014 and the second highest total on record for the agency, which manages the deals after they have received approval from the Department of State.
The previous record for the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) process managed by DSCA was 2012, although the figure that year was largely buoyed by a massive USD29.4 billion deal sending Boeing F-15s to Saudi Arabia.
