Australia is to purchase two more KC-30A multirole tanker/transport (MRTT) aircraft from Airbus Defence, to be delivered in 2018 at a cost of about AUD408 million (USD314 million), Defence Minister Kevin Andrews announced on 1 July.
The minister said that an update that included associated conversion costs had been added to the existing acquisition contract with Airbus Defence and Space for the five A330-based KC-30As now in service with the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF).
