National Guard signs MoU with Pakistani Army

Manama, Dec. 14 (BNA): A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed Thursday between the National Guard and the Pakistani Army to implement the Joint Counter-Terrorism Exercise (Bader2).
His Highness Staff-Major Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa the Commander of Special Operations Unit in the National Guard signed from the National Guard’s side, in the presence of the Head of Operations and Training Department.
His Highness affirmed that the National Guard is continuing its modernisation and development programme at the directives of His Highness Lt-General Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa the President of the National Guard, with follow up from Major-General Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Saud Al Khalifa the Director of Staff of the National Guard, aimed to achieve the pillars of its 2020 strategic plan. His Highness added that the vast successes achieved by the Kingdom of Bahrain in combating terrorism encourages its development of its potentials to avail from external expertise, praising the Republic of Pakistan's vast expertise in counter-terrorism at the domestic level and the provision of support to eradicate terrorism abroad.
Bader2 will be implemented in Bahrain following the successful implementation of Bader1 in Pakistan which included practical military drills and skills aimed to boost the efficiency of the participating military officers and personnel and to achieve highest level of coordination in the fight against terrorism.
His Highness the Commander of Special Operations Unit pointed out that the strong brotherly ties reflected in the achievement of advanced levels of military coordination and cooperation, including the implementation of joint exercises to exchange expertise between the National Guard and the Pakistani military institutions.
