Balikatan Exercise - Philippines and US military

The Philippines have the so called Balikatan exercises borne from the Visiting Forces Agreement between the Philippines and the US. Participated in by US military and the Philippine counterpart, it is a long term training as per the agreement. But what the public perceives is the bonding and solidifying the relationship of the US and our country so that in case of war, the US will be forced to provided support.

The said Balikatan exercises is now ongoing in Subic Naval Base that is now Subic Freeport, a civilian establishment.
