Growing military co-operation between China and Belarus emerged during a 9 May military parade in Minsk that featured a multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) using a China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) 200 km-range A200 guided rocket.

On 16 June ITAR/TASS reported that the Polonaise MLR system had been tested in China.

According to a Chinese report, the two sides agreed in 2013 to create the new MLR system, which could enter Belarusian army service in 2016. The same report noted a 2012 agreement between China and Belarus to develop a new surface-to-air missile system.

CASC's A200 was revealed at the 2014 Zhuhai Airshow as a two-stage guided artillery rocket, with a main solid-rocket engine propelling a finned second stage using inertial and satellite navigation systems.
