At the end of the day wars are won by economics,those who can produce more equipment to throw at the enemy. The longer the war, the more economics plays a role. Germany did not lose WW1 and WW2 militarily, they lost because of economics. Germany in both wars was unable to replace the equipment they lost.

In a direct attack on the US dollar as IMF reserve currency. Brazil, Russia, India and China are setting up their own development bank.

This will show, they are improving and also in the business world they are doing well and also wander how the USA will react and may worry but will not be able to do much as these countries are separate from them. I think a separate bank will be good and also, show how these countries are moving ahead in the world and also will be nice to see this happen and hope it brings good results for everyone. The dollar may increase in these countries and also should be able to be profitable as well and wander when this will happen and looks like it will occur sooner than thought.

There have been a few articles about USA bitching about the BRIC's setting up development banks. They have stated it is a direct threat to the US dollar, and then they stated that it threatens world security. It all depends on how USA reacts, if USA decides to lower its deficit to make the US dollar more attractive to investors then that will be a good thing. If USA decides to try and attack the BRIC banks it will be a bad thing.

It is possible a new cold war could emerge, but unlike the Soviet Union cold war this one will be difference. With the Soviet Union their economy was seperate from the rest of the world. The BRIC economy is intertwined with other economies including USA.

BRIC - Brazil, Russia, India, China. Does it have a meaning or a relation to each other? Is this thread pointing to an alliance of sorts? To me, it doesn't like like those countries have symmetry. Perhaps it's just upon the initiative of their finance ministers. Nevertheless, an economic alliance, if handled properly, is beneficial to all the members.

Hmm, what could possibly happen? I don't know how big of a threat it is but if it be a threat to the USA it sure is a threat to other finances and economics of other countries for sure. It's really sad that they would attack the currency in that way, to make its value drop which could result in disaster really.
