The problem with China is that its jumping the gun by attempting to cross the bridge before it gets there. The Russians have recently made their prescence felt there with advanced fighters and almost engaged an American frigate. It will take an accidental flare up in the area to cause a nasty confrontation. The fact remains that this war will not be solved through military means.

"Air-to-ground" missiles being positioned on islands?
Do you mean ground-to-air? Or Anti-air? Or Air defense missiles?

"Air-to-ground" is just what the words are describing, the missiles are for firing from an aircraft to a ground target.

Spartly islands are claimed by 4~5 countries. Taiwan's claim matches the China's claim, because both base their claim on the 9-dash-line which was created in 1940s by the regime on Taiwan (Republic of China).
