CNN: Jerusalem's Old City "On the Verge of Extinction"

CNN: "Go see them now, before it's too late threatened by neglect, the elements, changing architectural trends or ruthless developers, these outstanding buildings are all fighting a hard battle for survival."

Excuse me? Since when has CNN been given the foretelling and sixth-sense ability to predict structural destruction of historical sites and monuments? Another political agenda rather than reality. They didn't predict about the ancient Palmyra ruined and devastated by ISIS, did they?

CNN, as with the UN, claims that position of authority. The Old City of Jerusalem isn't "on the verge of extinction." CNN has not business including The Old City which they say is in the UNESCO's List of the World Heritage in Danger. CNN has no business including Old Jerusalem, which, their frustrating media-habits of unfounded reporting can be attributed to anti-Israel politicking. The truth is, all religious sites are protected by law and freedom of religion. Even the most disputed Jerusalem. "The Temple Mount is under the control of the Muslim Waqf under arrangement to maintain the status quo." CNN should investigate and report about the Temple Mount unauthorized excavations and threat by the Palestinians destroying priceless artifacts and antiquities.

Jerusalem's religious to both Jews and Muslims can't be stressed enough. Since it's of much value to both, as it is, who then, would CNN accuse of threatening it with "extinction?"

CNN's relevance is fading and unless they do better and focus more on providing credible news people will opt to get their news elsewhere.

Let's take away the religious color and what you have of Jerusalem is a historical treasure. The government should be taking care of it. Over here, we have the National Historical Institute (or commission, not sure) that takes care of historical and vintage places. They even take over old houses for preservation. With Jerusalem, the whole world is concerned and if it is really neglected such as to be extinct (as per CNN) then governments should make their move now.
