Croatia has received its first Panzerhaubitze 2000 (PzH 2000) 155 mm self-propelled artillery (SPA) systems, the country's Ministry of Defence (MoD) announced.

The MoD paraded the first vehicle at the Repair Office of the Armed Forces in Jankomir on 29 July, ahead of their public debut during the Victory Day parade in Zagreb on 4 August.

Croatia bought 12 former Bundeswehr PzH 2000s from Germany in December 2014 for EUR12 million (USD13.1 million). In total the Croatian MoD has budgeted EUR41 million to bring the SPAs into service, modernise their fire control systems, and support them.

Chief of General Staff General Drago Lovric said he hoped "that at the end of 2016, beginning of 2017, the howitzers will be in full operational use of the Armed Forces".
