By Fakhri Vakilov – Trend:

Uzbekistan joined the China-Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railway corridor, Trend reports with reference to the press service of Kazakhstan Railway.

"The flow of containerized cargo has increased, especially to Uzbekistan and through the Bolashak station to Iran, with the accession of Uzbekistan, the corridor becomes significantly shorter,", first deputy chairman of Kazakhstan Railways, Kanat Almagambetov said at a meeting of railway administrations of these five countries in Almaty.

Kazakhstan Railway said that the volume of traffic along the China-Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran corridor in 2018 was 1,000 TEU (container in 20-foot equivalent).

"For the development of transit cargo from China to our countries and in other directions, it is important to develop acceptable tariff and other conditions," said Almagambetov.

During the negotiations, the importance of timely delivery of goods to increase transportation was noted. In this regard, special attention is paid to meeting the demand for fitting platforms. The parties pledged to jointly provide the full amount of shippers with rolling stock.

At the meeting, issues of attracting additional goods to the Iran-China route, the organization of regular container services and the establishment of tariff conditions along the China-Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran corridor for 2019 for loaded containers were discussed. It is also reported that since April of this year, a regular feeder service is launched on the route Aktau - Alat.

Following the meeting, the parties also agreed on integrated tariff rates.

The total length of the route China-Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran is about 10,000 kilometers. The total travel time is about two weeks, which is twice as fast as by sea, which takes 25-30 days.

The China-Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railway route is part of the North-South international transport corridor and the first logistics solution for speedy cargo delivery from the East China coast to the markets of the Persian Gulf. In Turkmenistan, based on the needs of suppliers and carriers, there are two routes from Serkhetyak: to Serakhs, to the southeastern border with Iran, or to Akyayl and from there to the north of Iran.

The creation of this transport and transit corridor became possible after the construction of the international railway Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran. The road was opened in December 2014 with the participation of the heads of state of Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran.

Representatives of the "Uztextileprom" Association held a meeting with the delegation of the Council for Foreign Economic Relations of Turkey "DEIK" in Uzbekistan, Trend reports with reference to the press service of the textile association.

During negotiations with foreign partners, information was provided on the favorable business environment formed in Uzbekistan, a broad system of legal guarantees and privileges for foreign investors, customs privileges and preferences, investment potential, the banking system, and the procedure for granting loans to foreign investors.

The sides discussed prospects of introducing the water management system (Zero liquid discharge) in Uzbekistan using Turkish technologies, which provide comprehensive solutions to water purification and industrial wastewater.

It worth noting that wastewater, which contains a wide range of contaminants, is formed when finishing textile materials.

Moreover, soluble dyes are a big problem, because few cleansing technologies are available and dissolved dyes are not sufficiently eliminated in municipal wastewater treatment plants.

Following the meeting, the parties reached an agreement on the introduction of the latest Turkish technologies in the implementation of projects of the textile and garment and knitwear industry.

The Hungarian Kiss Group plans to organize a plant for the production of vegetable oil in the Jizzakh region of Uzbekistan, Podrobno.uz reported.

This was said during negotiations with representatives of the Hungarian company in the National Project Management Agency.

"A preliminary agreement was reached with the Hungarian side on the implementation of a joint project to organize the production of vegetable oil in the Jizzakh region. It envisages the construction of a plant with a production capacity of 100,000 tons of oil per year. The products will be supplied both to the domestic and foreign markets," the agency said.

The parties also discussed the issues of site selection for the construction of the plant, as well as opportunities for growing sunflower and other oil seeds in the Jizzakh region.

They will help to provide the necessary raw materials for production, as well as the selection or creation of an organization coordinating the cultivation of seeds, for example, an integrator organization.

In addition, questions were raised about the availability or creation of storage for the harvest, suitable outlets for the sale of vegetable oils and seed by-products that can be used as animal feed.

An important issue was the discussion of creating a logistics network for collecting seeds and transporting the produced vegetable oil to consumers.

Kiss Group specializes in general contracting for the installation of technologies for the food and beverage industry, the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. Renewable resources have become one of the company's activities, due to the limited availability of fossil fuels and environmental protection. The most dynamic direction is the production of vegetable oils.

Also, Kiss Group is renowned as world leading sustainable technologies provider. The company is providing sustainable clean technologies for Biogas, water and effluent treatment plants. Agricultural and industrial waste water is converted into profitable green energy resource.

The company has offices in Singapore, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, the UAE, Brazil and Colombia. It has provided solutions and technologies to prestigious clients such as Unilever, Sinarmas, Cargill, SIPEF, UPL), Astra, Citra Borneo Indah and many others across the world.

The Uzbek-Turkish cluster for the production of leather and shoes is scheduled to be launched in the Jizzakh region by the end of this year, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.
The head of the economic planning department of the Uzcharmsanoat Association Dilobar Zufarova said that the project to create a cluster is in an active stage of development.
"The company has already received the necessary loans, and construction is now underway. By the end of 2019, leather production will be launched with shoe production to be adjusted afterwards. It is planned to master the production of leather goods at the next stage," Zufarova said.
The investment cooperation agreement was signed in Istanbul in 2017 by representatives of the Turkish Leather Industrialists Association and the Uzbekcharmpoyabzali Association of Leather and Shoe Enterprises.
Within the cluster, it is planned to set up three industrial complexes including factories for leather processing, shoe manufacturing, and leather goods. This will create a complete chain, from the processing of raw materials to the sending of finished products to customers. A significant part of the goods produced will be exported to the CIS countries and Europe.
To date, Uzbekistan has achieved one hundred percent coverage of the market for men's shoes, and women's and children's segments are on the way.
