1 Palestinian shot in back was killed and 3 others detained by Egyptian army. Apparently because they came on land near border area. Possibly to collect metal for workshops. There is graphic photo of victim .

This is unusual and hasn't occured any time recently. It's a shame Egyptian leader wants to take Egypt on this path. Now Egyptians are doing role of murdering Palestinians for sake of Jewish interests.

GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Egyptian military forces late Friday shot and killed a Palestinian at the Rafah border between Egypt and Gaza, witnesses and an official said.

Witnesses told Ma'an Egyptian soldiers opened fire at four Palestinians in the al-Salam neighborhood of Rafah, killing one and arresting the other three.

Gaza health ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qidra said in a statement that a 23-year-old Palestinian was shot dead and taken to Abu Yusif al-Najjar hospital in Rafah.

The motive behind the shooting was not immediately clear.

Egypt and Israel maintain a blockade on Gaza, keeping borders largely closed and limiting imports, exports, and the freedom of movement of its residents.

Egyptian forces have dangerous attitude towards Palestinians. I have been on the border over 9 times. They are very hostile/arrogant for no reason at all. And the news was posted.

They should give explanation for this attack. And prevent it from ever occurring again.

17 years old! What was the point of this, has there been any new updates? I've not been updated on the conflict between Palestine and Israel so I don't really know what Egypt hopes to gain from this. There is unrest in the country not too long ago too.

It's almost as though Western civilization is too far from them to care or report it en mass. But that's not true, though I'm not sure what is.

Egypt has agricultural problem and gas problem. Which Israel can sell gas and provide agricultural technology . But as of now they haven't had serious discussions on these two. This is part of common order in the region. They do this as part of peace treaty.

Egypt has been destroying tunnels of Gaza for a while now. Gazan Palestinians built them because both Israel and Egypt refused to open borders and allow them to have commercial trade. So Gaza had no choice but to find alternative method. Egyptians in Sinai also had few opportunities, with the tunnels they made income and the difference between Sinai in 2007 and in 2013 is massive. They had income to build more neighborhoods and indsutralize area. After the crackdown on tunnels it has affected both Egyptians and Palestinians. And now Egypt is building buffer zone on Gaza yet not opening border. Gaza only gets 3 hours of electricity nowadays and civil employees have not rexieved wages for months. The siege prevents any possibility for economic development.

I think the army should of talked to the guys first, or tell them to turn back as they are not allowed and not just start firing at people for coming to the border. If the person was trying to forcefully enter, than they should have tried to turn him back and not kill him as he did not get violent in the story when trying to enter. I think more investigation needs to be done, and find out what the people were doing at the time and why try to cross over the border when not at peace.

Well if this news is true then it certainly introduces a new twist to things because i thought the Egyptians and Palestine's were close allays.
