America seems to be lobbying hard for a jet sale to India. F16 is out of the question as enemy has been using it for a while. F18 seems dead. Why isnt India not even discussing a proven plane which is being relaunched with advance tech.

F35 to expensive, rather focus on our amca
cost-effective both in terms of operation and acquisition, very low-risk.

America seems to be lobbying hard for a jet sale to India.

The US is caught in between trying to counter China but at the same time hesitant to sell India fighter jets be it F-16 or any other platform knowing that India has refused to drop the S-400 deal. India has some other options either go for the Rafale or the EuroTyphoon. The MiG-35 and SU 35 might be a good alternative.

AMAC is a dead project especially after Tejas failure. India could have gone for JV with Russia instead of reinventing the wheel.

Mig 35 is surely out of the equation. Su 35 is good but to similar to upgraded su 30mki. F15 or f18 deals can easily also reduce the the trade deficit between and India and Usa.
