A whole lot of chest thumping by both China and USA, but the reality is China is no threat to south sea commerce. The reality is if China wanted to cut off SE Asian shipping, they do not need the Spratly Islands. They already are able to do this without leaving their territory.

I got a good laugh in reading the news the other day. There was a call by a group of Filipinos to boycott China products. To consider that the Chinese products are the cheapest in the market, how could a poor Filipino buy expensive American products? For sure, that call will get nowhere. Let's be realistic and recognize the benefits we get from those cheap Chinese products. But that doesn't mean that we support China.
