the desert border, as far west as you can get in Texas
I’d like to go to Texas and New Mexico - I have only been on the two coasts and upstate NY. I say ‘only’ - that’s a lot, but I always think of the US as multi-layered or even as several different ‘countries’.

Well if you really like the desert, this should be on top of your list:

That does look fascinating and beautiful, especially for a winter visit when it would be dry and crisp.

On the subcontinent, I would be interested in seeing the Cholistan/Thar desert.

Winter would be the ideal time to visit.

Cholistan / Thar, I was deployed there for a relief Op, the poverty, pain and misery, the indifference of the Feudal lords / Provincial Govt was heart breaking. If you like me cant see human suffering, then best not to go.

Bhawalpur area has more or less same features, but much less human suffering.

I share your feelings about feudalism and the misery it causes. I shall look up Bhawalpur and find out more about it.
