It is no secret that Iran is well involved in the political, and social life in Iraq. Indeed, the Iraqi government is dominated by Shiite parties.

Iran increased its control through religious events, which peak during the months of Muharram and Safar, where millions of Shiites flock from all over the world, to revive the sectarian rituals and visit shrines and tombs of the Imams in Najaf, Karbala, Baghdad and Samarra.

Iranian police parading in Iraq
Released videos showed the intensive attendance of elements of the police and the Iranian security forces, riding around in their cars on the roads leading to Karbala, Najaf and Baghdad, under the pretext of protecting and securing the marches commemorating the celebration of Hussein bin Ali which will take place November 20th.

Iraqi security sources confirmed that more than 50 vehicles belonging to the Iranian police, entered with their weapons and equipment to the Iraqi territory, to secure the arrival of Iranian visitors to the city of Karbala.

Pictures posted on Iranian sites and Press agencies show a number of government officials wandering all over the place without protocols or formal restrictions, as if they were in Iran.

Ali Khamenei calls for the continuation of marches
The Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, declared in a statement made Thursday, that these demonstrations should continue even if they are risky, and said that “these marches ensure the survival of Iran.”

In this context, the Iranian researcher Hassan Daii, published an article on Al Arabiya English and Persian in which he said that “the Iranian regime dreams of a Shiite supreme leadership and therefore a Shiite Islamic world, and spends billions of dollars investing in the sectarian events in Iraq to expand their influence there.”

Daii believed that celebrating Karbala became a strategic choice for the Iranian regime, which help achieve important goals at home and abroad.

The Iranian scholar said that “after 13 years of occupation in Iraq, Iran is interfering militarily and politically through the Qods Forces and their loyal militia, which were established under the leadership of Hadi al-Ameri, and his assistant Abu Mahdi Mohandes, who were leaders of the Qods Forces of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.”

He continued, “the Iranian regime believes that by military and political maneuvers, they will control the Muslim world”.

Soleimani said that “the revival of the Shiite memorials, led by Iran, gives her the power politically, and economically”

Daii emphasized that “despite the wide influence and prestige of Iran among the Shiites, most ordinary Shiites and public figures in Najaf are not subject to the control and influence of Iran, and violate Iran’s policies in Iraq.”

The Iranian scholar articulated that a Foundation run by Hassan Plark, the leader of the Qods Forces, is strongly active in Iraq through huge investment in building, commercial centers, hotels, religious bodies and the employment of clerics belonging to them; they also mobilize and organize the Shiites in other countries.

The Iranian regime is also active through similar institutions in different Arab countries to promote the idea of “The Guardianship of the Islamic Jurist “and Iran’s plan to lead the world and direct the Shiite public opinion to advocate the expansion of the Iranian project in the region.

Iran turned the entire region into Sunni VS Shia based on 1400 years historical fight for power.

You seem to have some aggression issues mate. i don't mean to be rude however you seem to forget it was the US which deposed of Saddam Hussein and that it was Saudi Arabia, which allowed and aided the United states to wage war against Iraq(their so called Arab brothers nonetheless) in the first place. (ironically Iraqi pilots even had to run to Iranian airspace to escape death and destruction in the first war)

The war (referencing the Persian gulf war of 1991) showed the absolute centrality of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the defense of this region. it is no exaggeration to say that without or military infrastructure and strategic depth which allowed friendly forces to mass & deploy in preparation for operation desert storm and without our financial & material contribution to the war, the war against Iraq could not be waged or waged only with the utmost difficulty ~ HRH general khaled bin sultan of Saudi Arabia joint forces commander in his memories of the gulf war.

You point the finger accusingly at Iran, but you seem to forget that you have done little to make the situation better either, and that in your own thirst to expand power at the expensive of Iraq resulted in Iraq becoming a Shia run nation with friendly ties to Iran. In short had you just left Iraq alone what you see as a problem (which is more just basic international friendly politics partnered with trying to keep travelling pilgrims) would have never happened. nobody forced you to give the US their bases, no one forced you to in debt Iraq to you (& Kuwait to the tune of 100 billion dollars) before 1990 and technically you didn't have to ruin your relations with Ba'athist Iraq by funding the invasion of Iraq and Kuwait. Before you look at another nation in black hate and rage look more at yourself first.
