May I ask which aspects of the military you’re interested in?
I’m a fellow European (although on an offshore island, you could say!) and a bit of a politics obsessive. Interested in the British Armed Forces but defence issues and military generally - and the Cold War era. Also very interested in sport: Rugby and Football mainly. So lots to talk about.

I have worked with quite a few Scandinavians but the only Nordic country I have visited is Sweden. The one I most look forward to visiting is Finland; Helsinki and other cities but also Sami country in the North. I have seen impressive photographs of the Finnish Army and would like to know more about the Armed Forces there.

Russia are really my sole superpower in military and none China and none United States.

This is very much how things look from a Baltic and especially Finnish angle I get the impression. There are a lot of historic and cultural ties to Russia, as a former imperial power as well as a regional force.

I have been to the Russian part of Karelia and found it a beautiful and fascinating region.
