is Indonesia still acquiring the Terrex Armored Vehicle from Singapore or has it been dropped?

So far, no plans for TNI-AD (Army) or Indonesian Marine Corps to accuire any of Terrex APC from Singapore.

I've heard some rumours too for JV not so long ago collaboration between PT.Pindad Indonesia and ST Kinetics Singapore to develop our own indigenous APC. But since PT. Pindad are way too busy with its Modern Medium Weight Tank programme collaborate with FNSS Turkish that soon to be launch its first prototype next year (2017) I never heard any of it again until today.

However there are serveral interest from Indonesian Marine Corps to accuire the newest Russian BT-3F Amphibious APC or BTR-4M Amphibious APC from Ukraine to replace our old BTR-50

Could you provide the specifications of all subs manufacture in Indonesia and how they are different from the scorpion and dolphin?
Thank you and good luck to our brothers and sisters in Indonesia, a country that we love and adore.

Hello again brothers.
Sorry for the last couple months I'm a bit busy at work. Travels alot these days.

But now I'm back in the forum even though missed so many defense news to post.

Oh.. by the way didn't mean to misleading the titles. Actually this is the first submarines to be build in Indonesia.
The first two of three chang bogo submarines (type 209 derivative) we buy from South Korea are build in South Korea.

So this is part of agreement with the South Korean Govt. to build the third submarines on Indonesian soil after we completed all the infrastructure's we needed and the learning curve we gain from the first two submarines.

There are 4 module each subs to be build and assembled.

Do you mean Scorpene and Dolphin? bcoz AFAIK Scorpion are old U.S. nuclear submarine and soviet B-427 whiskey class

These submarines (Dolhin, Scorpene, Chang Bogo) actually came from the same class in terms of equipment and weapon system.
This three submarines are 55 to 60 meters+ Diesel Electric class with optional AIP features depends on its price. Design, characteristic, and performance are major difference between each others

Despite it's heavily upgrades to meet 21'st century requirements, Chang Bogo submarines have similar design with type 209 which is derivative and much older design compared with Scorpene and Dolphin. Price wise it's way much cheaper too.

I'ts ok my friend, not a problem at all.

to be honest, for me everytime I heard somebody say scorpion submarines actually this is the first thing pop up from the deep waters of my minds ~^~

As for french submarine I rather call it Scorpène-class submarine

so It's a matter of personal choice of what or how you wanna call it. Not a problem. it's ok
Since we're not talking about SSBN nuclear subs here, I get the point what my brother mean to.

Perhaps it's like..
I rather say "Mercedes Benz" ..as Mercedes Benz rather than "Merc's"

or..

"BMW" as BMW rather than "Beemer's"

because I'm affraid somebody already use Mercs and Beemers for their brands.
but I could be wrong though.

Now back to topics.. D:-O

Saudi Arabia and the rest of the GCC countries are in dire need of subs. They have been proposed with French subs but we are eager to go for the German ones. I wish we both could engage in JV and come up with more advanced and sophisticated tech. Shah Salman was recently in Indonesia and signed $6.5 billion worth of investment but the head of indonesia was not happy about it.

But rest assured that Saudi Arabia and other gulf countries will always stand behind Indonesia and time will tell.
