Indeed my friend. it's a loud and clear messages to China about how Indonesia will play this game. Pretty neat one actually looking how Indonesian plays a balance role between military and economy relations to China.

It's like saying to China: "You can do whatever you want in SCS, we just sit here and watch from a distance. But if you dare to touch our sovereignity. We will give you a punch and bloody head nose"

That looks like a very big military game. Does Indonesia still receive military aid from the U.S and Australia?

Well it's more like approval actually rather than military aid, Indonesia still have to pay $ 750 million for 24 units F-16 C/D block 25 which is 'donated' by the U.S. Govt to be upgraded to block 52 standard.
http://www.dsca.mil/major-arms-sales/indonesia-regeneration-and-upgrade-f-16cd-block-25-aircraft

Also they allowed us to buy 8 unit the most advanced attack chopper AH-64 D Longbow block III (now its called AH-64 E Guardian) and its definietly not free for $ 1.42 Billion with all supporting equipment and hellfire missiles.

Down to $ 60 million for 180 Block I Javelin missiles with 25 Command Launch Unit (CLU) with all supporting equipment.

and last but not least a 36 units AIM-120C-7 AMRAAM for $ 95 million

And its brother AIM-9X-2 sidewinder for $ 47 million

As for Australian donated C-130H Herc's perhaps it's a bit true, but still there's a price we must pay. Jakarta still have to pay about $ 15 millions for the whole package's (5 unit). Make sense for all supporting equipment plus simulator's we received from Australian Govt.
