Wow I can't believe ISIS is moving to ever corner of the country that freely. There must be a hidden hand in the Iraqi central government and the US playing checkmate.

They bombed a funeral which killed commanders in the popular mobilization committee commanders, and then another bombing killed an Iraqi army general. A small group like this can't have this good of intelligence. Either they have moles within army ranks or they have people working around the clock gathering targets. Part of it could also be Iraqi army/media is leaking events and army is not taking proper precautions.

I think that sometimes they do events to reassure public and give time/location/date prior hand which is a big mistake.

Fallujah is under sage. People are starving because of the sectarian government blocking food and supplies to the city. Our governments in the Arab world will be held responsible for their silence.

ISIS launches Operation 'Abu Ali Al Anbari' in northern Mosul:

US Special Force member(Advising Kurdish Forces) killed in ISIS offensive:

U.S. Service Member Killed by Islamic State in Iraq | US News

.....
.....

Why is ISIS launching this offensive?:

They are getting hit hard by US led Kurdish offensives in Northwest Mosul, which is forcing them into dedicating resources to the north distracting them from operations south against the Baghdad government. ISIS has tried to counter Kurdish offensives, but the terrain is flat and they're at disadvantage, with coalition airstrikes hitting them every time they attempt to regain Sinjar. The whole point of this current offensive, is to limit air strikes effect, going mid-north, flanking the Kurdish forces, in hopes it will ease pressure to recapture territories north west of Mosul. If this is done, then they will no longer be pushed back at terrain where they are at great disadvantage and taking heavy losses for.

Iraqi PM announces begin of 'liberation operation' of Fallujah, shelling is reported in the city.

Fallujah is a symbolic city for both sides. For the ISIS side, it represents putting up a fight against American forces, but also able to hold the city against government forces for many years. For the pro-government side, this will deal symbolic blow to ISIS if they manage to retake it, and limit their ability to move around Anbar province. Allowing them to focus on north on Mosul.

I expect they will take over some areas, but will be met with hit and run attacks afterwards, until it is fully secure. The bombings around Baghdad won't come to an end soon though.

Nothing but an excuse to drive the Sunnis out of their lands.

Bingo...exactly that is the reason why the ICG asks those who live in Fallujah and Anbar to leave. Same thing happened in Salah Al-Dain and elsewhere. People seem to be fooled easily when they hear ISIS.

I usually don't agree with such notions, but sadly you are probably right in this case. The rhetoric against the residents of that city is very high, and pro-government side is promising to 'punish them' for being 'traitors'. So who knows what will happen to those residents. There is this backwards mentality that if your city gets taken over by insurgents, then you must have been cooperate one way or another, and therefore must be held accountable. Which is absolutely silly, but what can you do, some people lack basic common sense.

The truth be told, is that the US intervention in the region has contributed to the worrying situation involving ISIS in that area. Leaders like Gadaffi and Sadam it seemed were able to control the advancement of rogue groups like ISIS. Now they are out of the way countries like Iraq and Lybia are seeming to be running on autopilot; no clear semblance of any effective leadership.
ISIS is seeming to be moving to control Lybia's oil installations so that they would have more resources to fund their operations.
It's my belief that this is where the US should be intervening by brokering a deal with Lybia to allow the US to protect these installations to ensure that ISIS does not get control of them

Libya isn't keen on getting help from any Western nation. They've done enough already. Their intervention is what got that the country in the mess they are in now. Though Libya says they'll defeat Daesh themselves without help from the U.S it's unlikely that they will. The outcome would be allowing ISIS to have a safe haven even if the terrorists are driven out of Syria and Iraq.
