U.S.-backed Iraq signs military accord with Iran as 'strategic necessity' - World Tribune | World Tribune
NICOSIA — Iraq, a major recipient of U.S. aid, has signed a military cooperation accord with neighboring Iran.
All is fair in love and war. That's what Iraq's newest deal with Iran says. Having been failed by the U.S which has failed to help Iraq by sending troops to help them fight Daesh, they chose to get whatever help they could get, even from neighbors whom they don't like that much.
Iran and Iraq have signed a memorandum of understanding meant to rebuild Baghdad’s military. Officials said the MoU would focus on forming Iranian-trained Iraq Army units that would battle Islamic State of Iraq and Levant.
I hope this new deal works better and helps Iraq drive Daesh out of their borders.

Any co-operative effort that can bring stability to Iraq is welcome news indeed. There needs to be more regional co-operation to eradicate ISIS as they spread chaos and tragedy wherever they go. Good luck to this initiative, I say!

Who do you think has allowed ISIS to grow other than Assad, Iraq and Iran? They hijacked the Syrian revolution in order to portray to the world that what is happening in Syria is war against terrorism. They succeed so far.

Really? The media in New Zealand seems to have forgotten that Assad and the rebels are even fighting a war. All anyone ever talks about is the fight against ISIS. No one talks about what happens if Assad or the rebels win, its always new articles about how ISIS is surging or being pushed back.

Assad is not fighting ISIS. Its the other way around. Assad and ISIS are fighting the rebels. ISIS sees the rebels as secularistic apostates who are threatening their main goal which's power over Syria. The rebels are caught in the middle by both ISIS and Assad. They are fighting on two fronts. Since ISIS is helping Assad against the rebels why would he stand against them? instead he is doing them a favor. a win win situation for both.
