Islamic Military Alliance ​

The Islamic Military Alliance is an intergovernmental military alliance of 34 countries in the Muslim world united around military intervention against ISIL and other counter-terrorist activities. The organization is based at a joint command center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The IMA has announced that 6 more countries have just joined the alliance bringing the number to 40 countries in total.

I think the 6 countries just joined are Indonesia, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan and there are two more countries but so far there is no information about that. Im eager to know those who just joined. I will be updating this thread whenever news emerged.

This seems as if it will/should be a powerful alliance, and will hopefully have the effect of wiping out ISIS and other terrorist organizations. Is this a fairly new alliance? Not being from the area, I don't hear much about things like this, other than on this forum, so I don't know if this has been in existence for a while, or came about in response to ISIS/Al Qaeda, etc.

@Diane Lane it is a newly formed alliance that came into effect in 2015 December. their objective is to fight multiple terror groups not just ISIS but to hit groups like Al-Qaeda, the Taliban, Boko Haram, Al-Shahab etc.

Thanks, it's good to know that there's a group designed specifically to target terrorism. It's certainly needed, because the numbers of attacks seem to be increasing, and they appear to also be becoming more deadly. It's obvious that these groups of radicals aren't going to go away on their own.

Thanks for this thread, this is a positive note that can brighten the atmosphere amid the bombings and explosions around the world perpetrated by the terrorists. Maybe this IMA is behind the 350,000 military troops sent by Saudi Arabia to Syria? And with that alliance of Islamic countries, it looks like ISIS will now have to think of a way to perpetuate their existence. The suicide bombings are smearing the Muslims all over the world.

As far as I know, our leaders already decide to ops out. But still observing and waiting to see the modalities of this formed military coalition.
