Croatia last year invited countries to bid for contracts to supply fighter jets . Israel was also in competition . Israel have good diplomatic relations with Croatia which eventually helped them to win secure that deal

Israel will sell Twelve F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter jets to croatia for $50 million .TheF16 that israel will sell have been in use by the Israeli air force

Croatia Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovi told a cabinet session that “We will be able to use the planes for at least 25 years. The cost will be at most $50 million a year over the next 10 years ,”

Currently israel operate F-16 block C/D and Block I fighter jets .In total israel have more then 250 F16 fighter jets

Croatia joined the NATO alliance in 2009 and the European Union in 2013. Its air force currently operates a squadron of outdated MIG-21 fighter jets
