I may sound totally stupid but wasn’t fuel air explosives banned? I know it’s a conventional explosive but I remember reading somewhere that Nepalm and fuel air explosives were banned . Russians used it in Grozny and this one weapon made them Win the war.... utterly devastating weapon-if dropped from the standoff range ...
I am glad to see JF17Bs are experimenting with new weapons . By the way their cockpits are huge .... almost like sitting on a recliner ...

Don't think they're banned. US used them in Iraq and Afghanistan.

IRST is going to be part of the ASELSAN targeting pod, though it takes up a hardpoint, I think it offers more features than a dedicated IRST embedded in the platform, which is challenging to fit in a small fighter like Thunder.

IRST is a passive system and when coupled with HOBS AAM (whether WVR or BVR), can prove to be deadly. IRST should have been included in Block III. Radar can be prone to jamming and EW but IRST wont get affected. Modern IRST systems can search, track, lock on and engage targets. The aircraft doesn't even need to switch on its radar for engagement in hostile environment.

They are not banned---. The choice is voluntary---.
