How many of the III will PAF go for? Is the entire fleet going to be replaced or modified?

Original plan of PAF from sanctions time was to acquire 250 of total jF17.
However, with AZM project coming along, number of 250 may be slashed or may be not.

Older airframes are already being upgraded, it has been reported in past that blk1 avionics had been upgraded during production of blk2. Last year there was a complete overhaul of blk1, most likely they have upgraded more than software.

On the flip side, PAF may not need all of the jF-17 upgraded with cutting edge technology.

PAF given order of 56 intially (30A and 26B) for block 3

50 for now, the 130+ that are flying now, only some based on air-frame hrs/fatigue will also be upgraded.

In the mean time Blk4 is also being explored, which may or may not, see the light of day, in light of Project Azm and the new inductions. In that case, upgrade of Blk1&2 to Blk 3, will be a priority, and new Blk3 production, with minor upgrades will continue, and exceed the initial figure of 50.

Block 4 will be on card, may be with minor changes as projrct azm is one and half decade away or even more before it materialized.

PAF still have to replace 150 plus jet (mirages and f7) till 2030, so high numbers of thanders required

Usually after 50 another block starts. With 50 Block IIIs, the number will come up to 188, with two losses. 250 were planned, but I have heard of numbers up to 325, with some being EW and SOW variants.

But what will actually transpire depends on tech development (Azm) and procurement of other platforms.

Any idea how many T/R modules?

1000+ T/R modules.
For now only 30 Block-III single seat have been ordered.
The JF-17B went in to production several months before specifications for the Block-III were finalized.
Could be that some of the 26 JF-17B would undergo retro-upgrade to Block-III standards later.
