1- My guess, not more than 3-4 squadrons for PAF, that will take another 3-4 years. May be followed by another blk and repeat of 3-4 squadrons, eventually in 10 years time, prototype of AZM would be flying.
2- Upgrades are expected, but don't expect them catching up with blk3. It's very expensive to replace radars, limited budget will be spent some where else. Structural changes of airframe would be impossible to realize.
3- Guessing 1 squadron strength
4- Quite possible, may be most of the bravo will be
5- Isn't it already part of blk 3

Rest assured that it is not only the internals that have been upgraded, but externally as well. Blk3 will ultimately be quiet a game changer.

Lets move on from it's extrenal attributes to something more substantial?

What I am interested in knowing is:

1) How many Blk3's will be produced?

2) Will Blk 1 & 2's be upgraded to Blk 3 specs, or will they be given only structural upgrades at MLU's?

3) How many Bravo versions will be Blk 3's?

4) Will there be dedicated, Growler type Blk 3's, albeit as and when required?

5) Will it have a JMHCS equivalent system?

6) Besides the declared BVR and WVR missiles, what else is part of the ammo pkg for the Blk 3?

Everyone please feel free to add to this list first, and then we will see what answers we come up with.

1) Atleast 75. Initial plan was to have more than 250+ JF17 as mainstay of the airforce. With induction of other platforms that may go down a bit. But PAF would like to maintain a 200+ inventory of JF17s.

2) JF17 design was supposed to be modular, if it is cost effective, I would like to see older airframes atleast get the AESA radar with PL15s to perform ADA duties.

3) All Bravos built after finalization of BLK 3 should be of same level.

4) Does it have the legs to be a dedicated EW escorts for deep strikes? For battlefield SEAD roles, a stdard bravo armed with MAR-1 + EW pod should be sufficient.

5) If you we are induction PL10s then we obviously have to have an off bore sight targeting system to get the most out of the missile's capability.

6) No idea. PAF has been mum on the armament package. I would like to see and equivalent to SCALP (maybe a version of raad) and CBU-105 (Gb-6) inducted. We know A2A will be PL10/PL15

Export customers will likely prefer a single supplier for parts. Having to maintain multiple relationships for single piece of hardware comes at a great cost. See T-129s.

Argentina to purchase JF-17 ‘Thunder’ jets from Pakistan

Argentina intends to purchase 12 JF-17A Block III fighters from Pakistan according to a draft budget presented to the nations congress.

The Government of Argentina has officially included $664 Million in funding for the purchase of 12 PAC JF-17A Block III fighters from Pakistan in a draft budget for 2022 presented to its Parliament.
The two nations have had friendly relations for a while, Argentina has been part of the consensus in favor of the resolution put forward by Pakistan on the right to self-determination which is debated annually at the General Assembly of the United Nations.

Pakistan has voted in favor of the UN Resolution stipulating that “the continued existence of colonialism is incompatible with the ideal of universal peace held by the United Nations”, which has relevance for the Falklands Islands issue. The chair of the Pakistan Senate has said of the relationship that “Pakistan and Argentina have very close cooperation in various fields and unanimity of views on international issues”.
The JF-17 Thunder is a single-engine multi-role combat aircraft developed jointly by the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex and the Chengdu Aircraft Corporation of China. The builders say that the JF-17 can be used for multiple roles, including interception, ground attack, anti-ship, and aerial reconnaissance.

58% of the JF-17 airframe, including its front fuselage, wings, and vertical stabiliser, is produced in Pakistan, whereas 42% is produced in China, with the final assembly taking place in Pakistan.
