I hope so. The only thing I dont like about the thunder is the lack of capacity under its wings. It feels relatively lacking

Brought this here to this thread as my question is relevant here. You quoted 220 RD-33 out of which 157 RD-93 which leaves 63 RD-33. But what for? Are we planning to upgrade engine in near future?

Lets wait and see.
More details will be revealed hopefully in the coming month.
More significant in my opinion is the revelation by the respected PDF member @messiach, that Block-3 would be having fly-by-optics rather than fly-by-wire.

@Signalian @AliYusuf @Khafee @HRK interestingly, this is not a chin mounted IRST pod of which rumours have been floating since ages especially quwa. If chin hp isn’t implemented, would that be a setback for block 3 as it will limit the operational built-in capabilities as chin hp was supposed to be dedicated for IRST?

Some claim its as IRST pod and some as camera pod to record J-20 test flights in which FC-1/JF-17 PT-06 act as chase plane ....

This is BIG!!!!! I always thought that B1 and B2 thunders might get upgraded to air cooled AESA LKF601E while B3 and Dual seaters will start afresh with KLJ7A. I don’t think KLJ-7A could fit on B1 & 2

Issue is about the liquid cooling plumbing accessories and power access points that are not present in Block 1 & 2 and would incur a modification cost that is not insignificant. The LKF601E is a more or less a replaces existing radars and plug-in with minimal modification.

@Mastankhan you were right sales of thunder were hampered due to missing B variant.

For A2A role at least block 2 should be upgraded with AESA radar and IRST even if in poded form. if their is a possibility then we should also arm them with 2 PL-15 and 2 PL-10 each to make them relevant in coming high threat situation. Further if some one can guide if all F7 s have been retired or not, if not how many JF17s are required to retire them.
