Issue is not whether he believed them or not, but the lack of transparency. In any case, knowing @Humble Analyst he just wanted a postive end to these unsubstantiated rumors.

You know in weapons world---truth is not easy to come by. Deceitful information is leaked purposefully by both the sides.

It is a nice try by the opposition to spread the rumors.

Fighter plane fuselage or that of commercial jetliner fuselage (airframe) is the most crucial part for its existence which holds the entire aircraft intact/together. (cockpit is part of fuselage, empennage is not)

Fuselage is to aircraft, what hull is to ship (roughly). So if the fuselage is found to be brittle due to stress/fatigue, the (particular) plane's entire family is grounded forthwith for further inspection and safeguards, for structural integrity is the most sacrosanct which cant be put to back burner.

Since no such move has been seen from PAF, I think its a more of a mischief from Indians. Particularly after the following (Abhinandan) incidence which will haunt Indians for ever, recent acquisition & induction of Rafales and S-400 notwithstanding.

Sarcastic you i want to know if it is exaggerated propaganda or just propaganda? Unaware you may not know that there are some issues unrelated to fuselage, can be termed as growing pains but Indians are definitely exaggerating to malign the planes sales and success

At any given point, there exist Indian propaganda campaign to malign jF17. Such crap stay on top of google search for months, until they find next subject... these days it's use of hinges in cockpit of dual seat version.
They spend millions to inform world about jF17 not because social work is their life style but they have to coverup the propaganda, which they spew in schools about Pakistan.
