Russians and Westerners aren't too different are they...? Russia's recent gestures to France after the Paris attacks was very friendly and sympathetic, France on other hand didn't show appreciation. Anyways the thought that Russia is drawing West into war is bizarre. They are asserting their presence pretty well in the Middle East and don't need to drag West into anything.

I am not sure if the drills have began. Some speculate it will mean massive air raids in Syria, others have said it is to prevent Israeli aircraft from entering Lebanon and hence ship anti-aircraft missiles to Hezbollah.

Russia and France are heading to a great cooperation in the fight against these scums, our chief of staff called his Russian counterpart to coordinate the operations it seems,Putin ordered his navy to cooperate as allies with the French naval group. Hollande is most likely creating an alliance with Russia in the fight. The attacks of Paris literally changed him,you think he would have do that before the attacks ?
And then,he'll realize that he will have to ally with Assad if he really wants to destroy ISIS.
It will be hard for him to admit/realize/accept that, but he will do..... Let's want and see...

Russians are doing a lot of propaganda these days. What else they didn't use in Syria ? maybe Nuclear weapons ?

Sounds that the Russians are going to bring more Aircrafts to Syria and they're going to launch a heavy air raids , so in order to achieve good coordination between their forces they asked the Lebanese to close their airspace.

Lebanon has no sovereignty. Anybody can penetrate their airspace.

Russia and Lebanon are not allies, so how can the Russians ask the Lebanese to close their airspace and allow the Russian jets to fly above them ?

Indeed it's insult for the Lebanese and Hezbulshaitan militias.

What could Lebanon do ? O-|-o
The Israelis are literally daily violating their airspace, don't expect any reaction if Russia does the same. %-(

Indeed you're right !

That's what happens when an armed militia has a commanding influence on a country !

Russia violating airspaces, being intercepted.... it doesn't change much of what happened in the cold war era.

No one will benefit from a war between both.
This fear [the guarantee of mutual destruction] should there be a war is probably the one good things about possessing nuclear weapons. Were it not for the fact that both sides had nuclear stockpiles I'm sure that the two sides would have done more than trade threats.
